The very first step towards eliminating needless blindness will be a robust national campaign to raise awareness among people and key decision makers about societal implications of blindness, as well as to mobilize a strong, long-term political and professional commitment to eliminate avoidable blindness.
Using evidence, effective partnerships with other NGOs and government agencies, and identifying champions to support our efforts, we look to a future where everyone has access to quality eye care.
The key to our advocacy campaign is making sure our messages are clear and reach the people who have the power to make change, like policy makers and other key decision makers. National decision-makers and donor agencies need to be convinced that financial and human resources provided for the elimination of avoidable blindness are a sound, worthwhile investment.
